Best times for value

Many paid attractions have free or discounted hours. Museums often open for free on certain evenings. Food markets are cheapest and most lively in the morning. Rooftop bars charge less before 6pm but still give you the view.

Local vs tourist pricing

Look for where locals eat, shop, and gather. If a restaurant has a line of office workers at lunch, the food is probably good and fairly priced. Tourist zones near major sights often charge two to three times more for the same thing.
